POWAY, Calif. – Using Aldila’s new DVS™ in her driver and their Pink NVS™ in her 3-wood, Paula Creamer drained an eight-footer on the second hole of a sudden-death playoff to win the SemGroup Championship Presented by John Q. Hammons Sunday. Creamer fired rounds of 70-71-69-72 en route to her second win of the 2008 season and the $270,000 first-place check.
Creamer, who joined Aldila’s Advisory Staff in 2005, found herself in a sudden-death playoff for the second week in a row. Last week she fell just short losing the Stanford International Pro-Am on the first playoff hole in Aventura, Fla., but said she learned from that experience and was more determined to win this time.
“I was not going to lose this week,” said Creamer. “I was going to win this golf tournament, and I did in the playoff. I just felt very in control, I guess is the biggest thing, because of what happened last week.”
The victory was Creamer’s sixth career win on the LPGA Tour. She is 1-1 in career playoffs and has won four of eight events when she led entering the final round.
Aldila’s new DVS shaft features an innovative, new responsive tip design for extra kick at impact with an optimum launch. Stabilized with a unique flex profile and very low torque – distance is maximized. Aldila’s revolutionary Micro Laminate Technology™, enhanced with carbon nanotubes, provides for perfect feel. High performance technology harnessed and perfected into a special blend of weight, torque, flex and feel. Simply put, it’s sneaky long.
“Aldila’s revolutionary Micro Laminate Technology™ was first introduced in the Aldila NV™, then enhanced in the VS Proto™ and is now perfected in the new DVS™,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “By incorporating ultra-thin, aerospace grade carbon fiber with carbon nanotubes, Aldila engineers have taken golf shaft technology and performance to the extreme.”
