Ponte Vedra Beach, FL (May 6, 2008) – For the second year in a row Juli Inkster went to the 72nd hole at the LPGA’s SemGroup Championship event in Oklahoma needing a birdie — and getting it — to force a playoff, this time with 21-year old tour phenom Paula Creamer.
Additionally, fellow ProQuip endorser Jim Furyk landed his second straight Top 10 PGA Tour finish at The Wachovia Championship over the weekend in Charlotte. It was Furyk’s fourth Top 10 showing of the year, moving him up to 7th on the Official World Golf Rankings.
Inkster and Creamer, who essentially battled in match play conditions on Sunday, are close friends. The pair earned 1.5 points as teammates in foursomes matches during the United States Solheim Cup Team’s victory over the European Team in Sweden last September. Both players were outfitted in ProQuip as they endured rainy, cold and blustery conditions throughout the three-day international match play event.
