Nickent's New 3DX RC Ironwood Earns Debut Win on Tour

The latest "winning" hybrid from the King of Hybrids and a set of new super game improvement irons are now available in select stores. The company who made their name as a hybrid leader on the world’s professional tours is at it again with the new 3DX RC Ironwood.
The 3DX RC Ironwood won on the Nationwide Tour Sunday in the bag of Nickent staffer Bryan DeCorso. It is the 4th different Nickent hybrid to win on the PGA Tours in the last 4 years.
This time the company is calling the 3DX RC design their straightest and most forgiving to date. Nickent was able to increase the MOI by over 55% over their original hybrids, according to Iron Byron testing.
"This RC Ironwood design was really coming back to our roots," said Nickent CEO Michael Lee. "Our original designs were known to go very high and be very easy to hit for both low and high handicap players. The players have fallen in love with the new design."
"We made these with the idea that we needed a high launching hybrid that was made to perfectly match a set of high MOI hybrid iron set," said Lee. "We made some lower flying tour preferred titanium/steel hybrids in the 4DX, our premium brand. We also have a set of 4DX Hybrid Irons that perfectly match the 4DX Ironwoods. We are obviously big believers in hollow design irons and the ball flights they produce. We wanted to be sure to make this technology available to every golfer seeking improvement."
These high MOI 3DX RC Ironwoods act as the 3 and 4 irons in the 3DX RC Iron set. The rest of the set comes with a 5 iron through Sand Wedge, designed to perfectly match its ironwood counterparts. This new set of progressive sole designed hybrid irons creates an unprecedented mix of game improvement technology.
Nickent’s hollow design irons create super game improvement irons that combine forgiveness, accuracy, and distance. Because they are true hybrid irons that share MOI characteristics of woods rather than standard iron sets, Nickent has put much of their Research and Development into perfecting the hollow design, putting out four sets in the last six years.
The 3DX RC Irons are hollow with a 5-gram carbon backing, used to decrease vibration and to create an unmatched feel. Multi-material construction including a stainless steel face and body, and tungsten/polymer XW weighting inserts allow for premium performance from the iron. The two XW tungsten-polymer inserts push 75 percent of the club head weight to the extreme perimeter for a higher MOI and enhanced stability and forgiveness.
"These RC designs move the center of gravity away from the face for a high launch angle and very easy to play iron," said John Hoeflich, chief designer for Nickent. "We are, at our core, a technology company dedicated to lowering golf scores through breakthrough innovations like Hollow Design. We now offer an iron suited to every type of player looking to improve their game, and I couldn’t be happier about that."
Hollow Design irons have become revolutionized by Nickent since with their previous 3DX Hybrid Iron sets, also affectionately known as "the world’s longest irons." Hollow iron designed to provide a higher ball flight to have longer than average distances due to high and long shots created by its high MOI and strong lofts.
"The two-piece construction of the 3DX RC iron allows for a wide sweet area and a solid reinforced club face producing consistently long shots with every iron," said Nickent Director of Product Marketing Jon Claffey. "XW Inserts weight distribution forms an exceptionally large sweet area for forgiveness on off-center shots and helps create a perfectly balanced club head with an ideal center of gravity to assist in elevating the ball."
The 3DX RC set has already been proclaimed "the greatest value in golf" by some retailers, selling at a surprisingly low street price of $ 399 with steel shafts and $499 with graphite shafts. This includes the 3 and 4 3DX RC Ironwoods in a graphite shaft.
The 3DX RC Ironwood and 3DX RC Iron Sets are in stores now.
