The Golfworks Introduces the MPC (Maltby Progressive Cavity) Forged Irons

The Golfworks continues to lead the way in forged iron playability with the release of the new Maltby MPC forged Irons (http://www.golfworks.com/product.asp_Q_pn_E_MA0123_A_c2p_E_hp)

The Maltby MPC Forged Irons combine the look and feel of a true players blade profile with a weight distribution “flow” that optimizes the mass and dimensional characteristics of each iron in the set. The progressive weighting moves the weight in two ways, on the back flange and in the undercut, to provide stability in the long irons and a solid feel throughout the set. The MPC irons are form forged from 8620 carbon steel, giving them the true carbon steel soft feel many players prefer. Everything about the design of the Maltby MPC iron set was geared towards making it the most forgiving, most solid and most stable set of carbon steel, blade profile irons available.

“Many players believe all forged irons are the same and only for the accomplished player. Beginning with our Maltby MTF Forged iron, and continuing with the MCC and MMB Forgings, and now with the new MPC Forged design, we have proven that a better, true blade profile can exist and have the playability many thought was only possible in game improvement designs.” stated Britt Lindsey, VP of R&D for The Golfworks and the designer of the MPC Forged irons. All of the Maltby branded forgings available from The Golfworks fall into the Super Game Improvement category of the Maltby Playability Factor.

The Maltby MPC Forged irons are available in 3 thru 9, PW, GW and come with a progressive offset, with slightly more offset in the long irons progressing to less offset in the short irons. The progressive undercut cavity design and the progressive weighting on the back of the iron positions the center of gravity in the best position for optimal performance and feel in each club. CNC milled “U” grooves optimize spin for each club, and the beveled leading and trailing edges prevent turf snag.
