JUPITER, Fla. – With THE PLAYERS Championship offering one the largest purses of any tournament in golf, players are naturally looking for a competitive advantage and more players than ever before are turning to SST PURE® shaft alignment technology to take their golf club performance to the next level.
Fifteen of the world’s best players visited the SST PURE Tour Van and had clubs PUREd® during this weekend’s major event at Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. At the end of the tournament, nine of the Top 10 money players at the Players Championship were among more than 200 PGA, European and Champions Tour professionals who have either requested their shafts be PUREd or had shafts PUREd by their representatives, clubmakers or OEM shaft manufacturers.
“SST PURE shaft alignment technology has been enhancing club performance on the PGA Tour for nine years now, and the tour-proven results of the alignment process has made PUREing® more popular on Tour than ever before,” says Dick Weiss, managing partner of Strategic Shaft Technologies L.C. and founder of the SST PURE shaft alignment process. “SST PURE is the No. 1 shaft alignment technology on pro tours worldwide, but most average golfers still don’t know how much they can benefit by properly aligning shafts to their most stable orientation. This technology helps golfers of all skill levels and, as far as the general public is concerned, SST PURE is still one of the Tour’s best kept secrets.”
Patented SST PURE technology developed by Strategic Shaft Technologies (SST) L.C. has radically altered players’ expectations on shaft performance. Weiss explains many golf equipment experts now admit that golf technology has reached the limit in generating distance (from golf club design) and that every shaft has imperfections that prevent it from being 100 percent straight. However, the shot-enhancing PURE technology has been independently tested and scientifically proven to minimize off-line shaft bending and/or twisting during the swing and to significantly improve impact repeatability on the center of the club face by up to 51 percent.
The SST PURE shaft alignment process utilizes proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors to accurately analyze the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and to locate the shaft’s most stable orientation. As a result of the process, SST produces a visual graph and analysis report that illustrates the shafts’ performance results ‘before and after’ the PURE process and detailing three key aspects of PURE alignment. The first is a 360-degree evaluation of the shaft’s stiffness, roundness and straightness, known as the ‘Load Symmetry Index’ (LSI) test; the shaft’s oscillation in the ‘logo up’ or the factory-installed shaft position in the clubhead, and the shaft’s oscillation when in the PURE-aligned position. The SST analysis also records the performance percentage each shaft was improved.
