CHAMP Wins Four Times in One Week–on PGA, LPGA, European and Futures Tours

Marlborough, MA-May 19th, 2008 – CHAMP Spikes brought the brooms to golf this weekend for a clean sweep as winners on the LPGA, PGA, European Tour and the Duramed Futures Tour all wore CHAMP Spikes. On the men’s tours both champions chose CHAMP’s Pro Stinger™ spikes, while on the ladies tours, the winners wore CHAMP’s Stinger™.

At the AT&T Classic in Duluth, GA it was two CHAMP Spikes faithful dueling it out in a sudden death playoff. The winner sported the ProStinger while the runner-up, coming off a strong showing at the PLAYERS Championship, wore the Stinger.

The ProStinger, the industry’s only hybrid spike, combines the feel of a traditional metal spike with the comfort and stability of today’s plastic spikes. CHAMP’s Q-Lok fastening is the industry’s only non threaded fastening system, with just a ¼ clockwise turn and spikes are removed and a ¼ turn the other way locks them in place.

The story was the same at the Irish Open as the winner had the same championship combination: CHAMP’s Pro Stinger and Q-Lok fastening system. The European numbers continue to be impressive, as 60% of all players wore CHAMP spikes. Seven of the top 12 finishers wore the CHAMP brand.

On the ladies side it was the Rolex Rankings’ number one capturing her third-straight victory at the Sybase Classic in Clifton, NJ, this win by a one-stroke margin. Once again, the winner, who earned her 6th trophy of 2008, used CHAMP’s Stinger to provide traction all week.

On the Futures Tour, second-year player Mindy Kim of Diamond Bar, CA, claimed her first professional title, a wire-to-wire win, to take the Mercedes-Benz of Kansas City Championship. The choice again was the ever popular Stinger by CHAMP. In total, 94 of the players competing in Kansas City chose CHAMP, the official sponsor of the Duramed Futures Tour.

“It’s hard to beat a huge number like 94 players wearing the same spike, that’s very impressive,” said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP. “I can’t imagine a weekend getting any better than this one. Four winners and impressive numbers on all tours; it’s easy to see how we earned our reputation as the number one brand on tour with results likes these.”
