Monument, CO (May 21, 2008) – EyeLine Golf has taken another innovative step to help their customer base “practice smart.”

“We created T.O.U.R. Training because we thought it would be fun for our customers. We had no idea it would circle the world so fast”, states Sam Froggatte, CEO of EyeLine Golf. “We had players from 42 countries play the game in the first 10 days!”

T.O.U.R. Training was born when an EyeLine employee was at home enjoying some downtime. It happened when he noticed the “brilliant” format in his video game. He began noticing how the game was teaching him the skills he needed for the upcoming challenge. Without even knowing it his “play” was actually “practice”. It was then that he began to think- “wouldn’t it be great there was something like this for real golf.” His idea was taken to the CEO of EyeLine and T.O.U.R Training was born.

They have titled the putting game “T.O.U.R Training” which stands for “Targeted, Organized, (training for) Ultimate, Results.” “Practice is boring because it doesn’t let you feel the fun of competition. As a result, practicing gets stale, uninteresting, and avoided,” comments Garrett Froggatte, the designer.

The “Targeted” means the player has a specific skill to work on. “Organized” means the player knows exactly what they need to do when they arrive at the putting green. “Ultimate Results” conveys measurable progress. “We believe measurement is the only way to create sustainable progress,” says Froggatte. “There are downloadable scorecards. It’s incredibly important that you can see improvement on paper; it’s convincing.”

There are levels of each game with increasing difficulty – from beginner to “#1 in the World.” The results are posted on a “World Wide Leaderboard.”

The first player to reach “#1 in the World” status is Jack Carter, a teaching professional in Phoenix. “I knew it was great training when I found myself nervous and wanting to win “#1 in the World” for the first game. It was almost dark; I was the only person around. My heart was racing and my palms were sweaty. I was thinking, “This is awesome!”

“If people practice they get better, so we try to make practice more fun. It’s simple,” says Froggatte.
