JUPITER, Fla. – Jack Nicklaus has long been known for his attention to detail when it comes to his golf equipment. For the past eight years, Nicklaus has used SST PURE Shaft Alignment technology to test his golf clubs and make sure that each club performs the same consistent and uniform way.
Now, through the services of Jack Nicklaus Performance Solutions, golfers can get the same attention to detail in their own clubs. The latest addition to the network of SST PURE licensees, JNPS is based in Jupiter, Fla. Using the latest technologies in golf club fitting and building, the company offers its services to the public through an alliance with the PGA National Resort and Spa and at the nearly 200 Jack Nicklaus Signature Courses around the world.
Jack Nicklaus Performance Solutions is headed by two top instructors from the Nicklaus stable. Eric Veilleux is a 15-year PGA member and Director of Golf at the Bear’s Club, and Darren May is a former European Tour professional and Director of Instruction at the Bear’s Club.

SST PURE Shaft Alignment is used by more than 200 players on the PGA Tour and is available through a network of custom clubmakers and manufacturers throughout the United States and internationally.
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its PURE orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts – steel or graphite – from most major manufacturers.

The patented SST PURE process of club assembly – deemed in compliance with USGA standards – locates each shaft’s irregularities and aligns the shaft to neutralize them, so that each club bends in the direction it should – straight down the target line. Upon having shafts SST PURE aligned, a player receives a personalized computer printout confirming the process and an SST PURE shaft label for every shaft that has been PUREd.
