Donating 1,000 authentic U.S. Military licensed camouflage shirts to service members
TORONTO, Ontario – Second Skin, one of Canada’s top golf apparel and outerwear brands, will be well represented at the 2008 U.S. Open Championship at Torrey Pines when play begins June 12. Mike Weir, who wears his own label licensed through Second Skin, and four members of the Hollas team including Rory Sabbatini, Dean Wilson, Jon Mills and David Hearn, have qualified for the event.
“The Hollas collection is a pure performance driven, innovative golf and golf lifestyle apparel collection for the fashion conscious male golfer,” said Don Nichols, Second Skin Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “With our fit and use of XFC (Xtreme Functional Clothing) fabrics, Hollas provides the ultimate in moisture transmission and diffusion so that you stay cool, dry and comfortable regardless of your physical activity. When you’re on the golf course how you play is your business … how you look is ours!”
While each of the Hollas staff players will be keeping cool outfitted in the Hollas brand, Sabbatini, the newest member to the Hollas Team, will be sporting authentic U.S. Military licensed camouflage shirts designed by Hollas especially for this tournament.
Wearing the military style shirts is part of Sabbatini’s ongoing effort to bring attention to the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund and raise much needed money for it’s benefit. The Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund, a non-profit organization, has provided close to $60 million in support of military personnel lost in service to our nation, and for severely wounded military personnel and veterans.
In recognition of Sabbatini’s commitment to this cause, Hollas will donate 1,000 of the authentic U.S. Military licensed camouflage shirts to service members through the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
“We feel privileged to be able to support Rory in this cause,” said Nichols. “Since Rory is a member of our team and this is a charity he strongly supports – we will do everything we can to support him and his personal charitable goals.”
Nichols believes with several players in the U.S. Open wearing Second Skin apparel will greatly help them build their brand awareness in the United States.
“We feel that when American golfers soon have the opportunity to wear both the Hollas and Second Skin collections, they’ll be familiarizing themselves with clothes they feel offers the fit, fabric and fashion needs of their own personal golf style.”
