Justin Leonard Wins the St. Jude Championship to Retain Nike Golf’s #1 Position in Driver and Iron Wins on the PGA Tour

Nike Golf’s Swoosh domination continues with Justin Leonard’s victory at the Stanford St. Jude Championship, bringing to seven the total number of wins by Nike athletes on the PGA Tour. Leonard’s win also retains Nike Golf’s number one position in driver and irons wins on the PGA Tour this season.

For his 12th PGA Tour title, Leonard delivered an impressive display of pin-seeking iron shots with his Nike Forged Blade irons. Using the new Nike ONE Platinum ball featuring Nike’s Power Transfer Technology, Leonard is ranked second in greens in regulation on the PGA Tour in 2008. Since switching to the new Nike ONE Platinum ball earlier this season, Leonard has moved up the rankings from 94th in 2007 to 2nd this season.

Completing his full bag of Nike Golf arsenal were his SQ SUMO 5000 driver, Nike SQ2 17-degree fairway wood, Nike Pro Combo Tour 3-iron and his Nike SV 54 and SV 58-degree wedges. Leonard also wore Nike Golf apparel from its Tour and Tiger Woods Collection, as well as Nike’s SP-8 TW Tour footwear.

Nike Golf athletes have enjoyed incredible success on the PGA Tour this season with seven wins, including five different winners, and a major championship by Trevor Immelman at The Masters.
