Tournament Champ Wins After Switching to Idea Pro Hybrid
PLANO, TEXAS, June 9, 2008 – Adams Golf hybrids have dominated the hybrid category on the Nationwide Tour since the summer of 2006 and last week’s Rex Hospital Championship in Raleigh, N.C., was no different. Adams won its 55th straight hybrid count with 75 (46% of the total) in play, according to the Darrell Survey. Year-to-date data from Darrell Survey counts on the Nationwide Tour show 883 Adams Golf hybrids having been played through 14 events, and 408 from the next closest competitor.
At the top of the leaderboard was the tournament champion who played two Idea hybrids on his way to his second career win. Post-round comments from the champion included the fact that he had replaced his 3-iron with the 20-degree Idea Pro last week and that it played a vital role on the par-5 18th where he had a 248-yard approach to the green. He was able to get up and down for a birdie and a two-shot victory.
Not only the winner of the event but five other top finishers trusted the performance of their Idea hybrids down the stretch. The two players who tied for second place carried Idea Pro hybrids, two of the three fourth-place finishers played Idea Pro hybrids, and the seventh place finishers played one as well.
