Brian Bergstol Becomes Resort’s First Professional Since Sam Snead to Qualify for the National Golf Tournament
(SHAWNEE ON DELAWARE, PA) – The Shawnee Inn and Golf Resort’s Assistant Golf Professional Brian Bergstol recently qualified for the 2008 U.S. Open at the Torrey Pines Golf Course in San Diego, Calif. Bergstol is the first Shawnee professional since Sam Snead to play in the U.S. Open.
In his first attempt at the U.S. Open, Bergstrol finished the 36-hole qualifier at 3-under par (71-68), emerging from a group of 28 players at the Members Club at Four Streams in Beallsville, Md., to earn the second of two qualifying spots.
