Florida-based Publishing Company Receives Top Honors in International Competition
ORLANDO, Fla., (June 16, 2008) – Turnstile Publishing Company announced today that it has once again received top honors from the International Academy of the Visual Arts (IAVA), winning a total of five separate categories in the organization’s 14th annual Communicator Awards. The 2008 honors mark the second consecutive year that Turnstile has been recognized for creative excellence by the IAVA.
Turnstile’s 2008 Communicator wins include three Award of Excellence honors and two Award of Distinction designations, all within the competition’s Print class. The award-winning work, which was produced by Turnstile’s in-house marketing department, was selected from a pool of more than 9,000 entries from across the globe. The honors are as follows:
Award of Excellence
Print Advertising: Advertorial (Golfweek’s Definitive Guide to the Golf Life)
Print Advertising Specialty: Copywriting (Golfweek’s Definitive Guide to the Golf Life)
Media Kit: Advertising/Sponsorship (Golfweek Media Kit)
Award of Distinction
Magazine: Special Edition (Golfweek’s Definitive Guide to the Golf Life)
Magazine Specialty: Overall Design (Golfweek’s Definitive Guide to the Golf Life)
“We are absolutely thrilled that our marketing team has, again, earned itself a spot among the world’s top creative professionals, and it is wonderful to see their efforts applauded by such a distinguished group of judges,” said Clayton Morris, president of Turnstile Publishing Company. “Maintaining an exceptionally high standard of excellence is an important part of who we are and what we do as a company, and being awarded such prestigious honors is truly a testament to the quality and caliber of work that Turnstile produces not only for itself, but also for its clients and advertisers.”
The recent news comes on the heels of a particularly notable year for Turnstile’s marketing department, which received a total of eight highly coveted competition award wins – including three Communicator Awards – in 2007 alone.
“The incredible quality and diversity of this year’s entries was an inspiration to the academy and all of our judges. The work reflected the rapidly changing media landscape as the growing amounts of interactive work submitted pushed the limits of the medium, and the quality of the traditional work submitted was again remarkable,” said Linda Day, director of the IAVA. “On behalf of the entire Academy, we are honored to have judged the 14th Annual Communicator Awards and we are proud to honor the best in creativity and execution from the foremost communications professionals in the business.”
