Nick Beale Wins Gulf Coast Amateur Championship by Beating 4 Time Champion – Steve Wilson – in a Playoff

Bay St. Louis on Mississippi’s “Golf Coast” as this piece of real estate on the Gulf of Mexico is known, hosted the 2008 Gulf Coast Amateur Championship. Players from 3 states converged on the Arnold Palmer designed Bridges Golf Club to compete for the coveted “Coast Amateur Trophy.” Nick Beale, 22 and from nearby Pass Christian used his accuracy gained by his unorthodox cross handed grip to shoot 69 to get in a Playoff with 4 time champion Steve Wilson, 37 of Ocean Springs. The Event is hosted by the Mississippi Gulf Coast Golf Association and sanctioned by the Mississippi Golf Association for player of the year points. For Complete Results Click Here
