Rhythm is the cement that puts the stroke together

Monument, CO (June 25, 2008) – EyeLine Golf introduced the new Golf Metronome Pro to the Tour at the US Open and last week at the Traveler’s. The players’ and teachers’ reception was off the charts.

Sam Froggatte, CEO of EyeLine Golf, was at Torrey Pines. “We knew players liked the idea of using a metronome to help them with their rhythm. We did not know it was such a universally accepted fundamental, however. We had 28 players put the Metronome Pro to work in the first two weeks. That is a huge group!”

Steve Bann, a leading instructor from Australia and coach to Stuart Appleby, made sure all his players were using it. “There is nothing more universal and important than rhythm. If you put music with a beat into a room of people, they will all be moving in the same rhythm within minutes. We are audible creatures; it is instinctive. It is the same with our putting strokes and swings. The metronome assists with finding and maintaining the ideal rhythm,” Bann explained.

The Golf Metronome Pro is so small it can clip on a cap or shirt collar. It has adjustable volume, and even a jack for head phones. “We took the concept of a metronome and had it engineered for the golfer, ” says Froggatte.

Mike Shannon, the short game specialist at Sea Island Golf Learning Center and recognized Top Teacher, uses the Metronome in every lesson. “Rhythm is the cement that puts all the pieces of a putting stroke together. You may have all the positions of the stroke correct, but it takes rhythm to make it work.”

“We have mental coaches using metronomes with their players to get them into each shot with the same cadence, regardless of the pressure situation. The Metronome instantly establishes the cadence for each movement – the pulling of the club from the bag, the tug on the glove, stepping into the shot, and even the waggle.” Froggatte says.

“I use it for full swing,” says Mike Bender, #10 on Golf Digest’s 50 Greatest Teachers. “Finding the same tempo every day is critical to consistency.”

“When I am on the call-in golf shows, I tell them the Metronome is the only product you can demonstrate on the radio,” says Froggatte with a smile.
