Perry uses Tour Burner Driver to win his second PGA Tour event of the year; Roberts returns to winner’s circle with wire-to-wire victory

CARLSBAD, Calif. (June 30, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf equipment once again contributed prominently to victories at the highest levels. The winners of the Buick Open, Commerce Bank Championship and the U.S. Women’s Open all relied on TaylorMade®. Kenny Perry became the third multiple winner on the PGA Tour this year when he closed with a six-under 66 to win the Buick Open in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Loren Roberts won for the first time this year on the Champions Tour, finishing with a three-under 68 to cap a wire-to-wire victory in the Commerce Bank Championship.

A month shy of his 48th birthday, Perry averaged more than 300 yards off the tee using the new TaylorMade Tour Burner® driver. The Tour Burner driver was the No. 1 model on the PGA Tour for the 14th consecutive week.*

It was the fourth PGA Tour win for the new TaylorMade Tour Burner driver, engineered for all types of players seeking tour-caliber distance, the Tour Burner driver features Dual Crown technology to create an exceptionally low center of gravity that makes it easier to create vertical-gear effect at impact, which helps achieve the high launch angle / low spin-rate combination that promotes greater distance. Since switching to the Tour Burner driver at the AT&T Classic in mid-May, Perry has won two tournaments and finished runner-up in another. Perry has now climbed to No. 3 in the FedExCup points standings and has earned more FedExCup points in May and June than any other PGA Tour player.

“I’ve had stretches, but this is probably the longest-sustained stretch in my career where I’ve played tremendous golf each and every week,” said Perry. “It’s nice to get back on form again, and to feel like I can win. I still hit it plenty far enough.”

Perry’s 11th career victory on the PGA Tour was significant as it took him one step closer to realizing his season-long goal of playing on this year’s U.S. Ryder Cup team – set to be held at Valhalla Country Club in his home state of Kentucky. Currently he ranks fourth on the U.S. points list.

In Perry’s bag:

* TaylorMade Tour Burner® TP driver 9.0°

* TaylorMade Burner® TP 14.5° (3), 17.5° (5)

* TaylorMade r7® irons (3-PW)

* TaylorMade rac™ 54° wedge

* adidas Golf TOUR360 LTD footwear

* adidas Golf ClimaCool® apparel

Roberts led from wire to wire to claim his eighth career title on the Champions Tour. Using TaylorMade irons, Roberts nailed a tournament-best 81% of greens in regulation en route to his first victory of the year. **

With the win, the 53-year-old Roberts earned 240 points and moved into fourth place in the year-long Charles Schwab Cup competition.

TaylorMade was the No. 1 brand of driver, fairway wood, and iron at the Commerce Bank Championship. ***

In Roberts’ bag:

* TaylorMade R510 driver 8.5°

* TaylorMade Burner® 3-wood 13°

* TaylorMade rac LT 3-5 irons

* TaylorMade 320 6-PW

* TaylorMade rac™ 54° and 58° wedges

The winner of the U.S. Women’s Open also relied on TaylorMade equipment to help her win the biggest tournament of her young career.

The 19-year old South Korean played two TaylorMade Burner fairway woods (3 and 5), as well as twoRescue® TP hybrids (21° and 23°) en route to a 9-under 283 and a $585,000 purse – the richest in women’s golf.

Additionally, each of the top five finishers in the U.S. Women’s Open used TaylorMade equipment, and TaylorMade was the No. 1 brand of driver, fairway wood, and hybrid.^
