Ochoa Joins Exclusive Group That Includes Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer
NEW YORK, July 1, 2008 – Golf Digest Publications announced today that Lorena Ochoa, the No. 1 ranked female golfer in the world, has joined the company exclusively as a playing editor. The long-term deal includes Ochoa’s contributions to both Golf Digest and Golf For Women.
According to the agreement, Ochoa will provide regular bylined instruction and feature content for the two magazines. Over the past year, Ochoa has contributed to both titles on a number of occasions and was on the cover of Golf For Women in the September/October 2007 issue. Ochoa will be featured on the cover of the August issue of Golf Digest, which hits newsstands on July 8.

Ochoa, 26, has won six of the 11 tournaments she has entered this year on the LPGA Tour, including the season’s first major, the Kraft Nabisco Championship. In her career she has won 23 tournaments, including two majors, two Player of the Year awards and two Vare Trophies for lowest scoring average on Tour.
Ochoa already has 26 of the necessary 27 points required to gain entrance into the LPGA Tour and World Golf Halls of Fame, although she will not be fully eligible for induction until 2012 when she completes the required 10 years on Tour.
Ochoa is the first player since Annika Sorenstam in 2006 to sign with Golf Digest Publications as a playing editor.
