DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 2, 2008 – Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Commissioner Carolyn F. Bivens today named Carol Corcoran to the newly created position of LPGA chief administrative officer. She will assume the role on Aug. 4, 2008.
In her role as chief administrative officer, Corcoran’s primary responsibilities will include management and development of human resources, oversight of information technology as well as the administrative activities of the LPGA.
“I am pleased to welcome Carol to the LPGA” said Bivens. “With more than 20 years of human resource experience and strategic administration leadership, Carol will bring people management and training and development expertise to the LPGA. Our business has grown exponentially in recent years and we look forward to Carol’s leadership in the areas of employee professional development, benefits management, and ensuring HR goals align with the LPGA’s business strategy.”
Corcoran has extensive experience in creating and implementing human resource strategies in high-growth, customer-driven companies. During her career, she has created integrated talent management initiatives, developed an internal wellness program, convened and led an executive diversity strategy team, and designed and led integration plans for merging companies. Most recently, Corcoran was a senior human resources consultant for Nike, Inc., where she was responsible for human resources and organizational strategy oversight and direction to the divestiture of NikeBauer to new owners.
Prior to Nike, Inc., she held senior-level positions with organizations including Tufts Health Plan, Canyon Ranch, Inc., Weber Shandwick Worldwide and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of New Hampshire.
Corcoran received a B.S. in political science from Northeastern University in Boston.
