(Madison, Connecticut) Amy Leiner, founder of Amy Leiner Designs, LLC has catapulted to the forefront of the fashion and accessories industries, designing pieces for TV and film, adorning such notable necklines as Celine Dion and Jane Seymour, and frequenting the pages of WWD, Elle Magazine, People, Brides Magazine, and other national publications. Amy is the go-to designer to find out what is hip and trendy in modern jewelry. Her newest feat is to uncover a medium hidden from design trends until now: the golf course.
Inspired by trendsetters such as Cathy Blair, Linda Hipp, and Nancy Haley, Amy Leiner is joining the team in garnishing the green and bringing style into what was previously known as a bland canvas. “Just because you’re in boy’s town on the golf course doesn’t mean you can’t bring your own feminine flare into the mix,” Amy commented, when asked about why she’s embarking on her latest challenge. “I try and make people feel beautiful in whatever their wearing, whether it is a gown on the red carpet, or a polo on the 18th hole.”
Her reasoning behind this lies within her success with the Ritz Carlton hotel chain which she has been designing for over the past four years and has acquired great acclaim. Through this she hopes to achieve a new awareness of the game, meet new people, adorn female athletes, and learn to play golf (a personal goal), she also looks forward to working with new sportswear companies and designers, in addition to selling to high end country clubs and resorts.
Designing pieces for limo riders to golf cart drivers may seem like a daunting task to many, but Amy takes it all in stride. “It’s not about who you are or what you’re wearing, it’s about how you feel while wearing it.” That being said, don’t expect a huge change in her collections, which she’ll design for the PGA tour. Her signature jewelry will still feature her signature “color stories” as she refers to it, and, as always, innovative patterns and designs.
