SDGA Seniors See Graduates at Work

ORLANDO, Fla. — A passion for golf can be turned into an exciting career in the golf industry, as proven by the San Diego Golf Academy (SDGA), a two-year golf college that prepares students with the education required to get the golf job they desire. On June 25, 2008, SDGA Orlando fourth-semester students received the opportunity to tour the Golf Channel and witness how Golf Central runs behind the scenes.

The tour at the Golf Channel was given by Mike Leninger, a 1997 SDGA Orlando graduate and staff member at the Golf Channel. Students also met with Shannon Trone, a fall 2007 SDGA graduate who began as an intern for the Golf Channel and who now assists with program coordination.

“We are very proud of our graduates and our success rate,” says Brad Turner, a PGA professional and director of the SDGA Orlando Campus. “Our graduates get the golf job of their dreams, and in turn, inspire our students with their success. It doesn’t get any better than that.”

The Golf Channel is available in more than 90 million homes worldwide through cable, satellite and wireless companies, and features a programming schedule that includes more live golf coverage than any other network. To learn more, visit www.thegolfchannel.com.

With four campuses in major golf markets – Phoenix, Myrtle Beach, Orlando and San Diego, SDGA is a leader in golf education. Founded in 1974, SDGA is accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS) and by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a national advocate and institutional voice for self-regulation of academic quality through accreditation.
