JUPITER, Fla. – Strategic Shaft Technologies, LC, which markets the industry-leading SST PURE® Shaft Alignment process, has received three new patents from Mexico that cover the use of its current technology.
SST now has a total of four patents in Mexico and more than 60 worldwide, with additional patent applications pending in many countries.
“SST is ready to take legal measures to enforce its patents in Mexico and elsewhere against any shaft manufacturer who may have used our patented shaft alignment technology,” SST founder Dick Weiss said. “When you couple these new patents with our already issued U.S. patents and dozens of others issued around the world, SST is in a very strong position to exert some legal muscle against possible infringers, regardless of their size.”
Using proprietary computer software and sensitive data-acquisition sensors, the SST PURE® shaft alignment process analyzes the structural irregularities that exist to some degree in every golf shaft and locates the shaft’s most stable orientation. By assembling the club with the shaft in its SST PURE® orientation, off-line bending and twisting of the shaft are minimized and impact repeatability on the center of the clubface by the golfer improves by up to 51 percent. The process can be performed on existing clubs, new clubs or new shafts – steel or graphite – from all major manufacturers.
SST PURE recently started its ninth consecutive year on the PGA Tour, and has already chalked up 18 PGA and Champions tour victories this season. SST PURE has also been named one of golf’s all-time Top 25 equipment developments by Golf International Magazine.
