Version 3.0 is getting tremendous feedback in its first weeks of operation
amateurgolf.com, the only website devoted solely to the amateur game, officially announces the launch of its new site design, a vast improvement in appearance and navigability. The new site displays vibrant color and photos, with expanded tournament coverage, a new golf course directory and comprehensive player rankings. Top amateurs and avid golfers with interesting stories who have joined the site’s growing membership will be featured regularly. This is the 2nd major revision to the site, which was launched in June of 2000.
The main page has a file folder layout. The folder “tabs” and the content behind them will change frequently, exposing previously hard-to-find information like rankings, player reviews and sponsor stories. Video, with exclusive coverage of events like the California State Amateur, now has its own dedicated section which catalogues all the pieces we’ve produced since 2006.
The amateurgolf.com – Bridgestone Golf Player Rankings are also more prominently featured, with points being awarded for major tournaments on a national basis, and a more detailed breakdown available for individual states such as California, Texas, Georgia and Florida. More states will be added in the next quarter.
An increase in junior golf coverage has also been a key part of amateurgolf.com’s growth in 2008. There are now over 1000 junior tournaments listed in our database, and a new section completely dedicated to the junior game is coming soon.
