VILLAGE OF PINEHURST, N.C. (July 9, 2008) – Pinehurst Resort announces the promotion of two of its golf staff members to head professionals this week.
Chris Crouch has assumed the head golf professional position for the Pinehurst Main Clubhouse activities, including management of the staff at course Nos. 1-5. Crouch joined the Pinehurst team in 2004 as an assistant golf professional, and was promoted a year and a half later as first assistant. Prior to joining the Pinehurst team, Crouch worked at theJim McLean Golf School in Fla. and the Jim Suttie Learning Centers in Ill. He is a graduate of Florida State University’s Dedman School of Hospitality.
Crouch’s responsibility will include management of the golf professional staff, as well as other operating staffs within the main clubhouse, including the internationally recognized No. 2 golf course.
Todd Camplin has also been promoted from first assistant to head golf professional at Pinehurst No. 7. Camplin has served the Pinehurst golf operations team since 2002, and received his Class A professional membership to the PGA this April. An Illinois native, he graduated from both Illiniois Central College and Bradley University before moving to North Carolina in 1996. He was awarded MVP of Bradley’s golf team in both 1996 and 1997.
Camplin joined the mini-tour circuit in 1996, logging six professional wins before joining Pinehurst. Since 2003, he’s won two Carolinas Section Assistant Association events.
He will manage the golf professional staff, pro shop, rangers and starters at No. 7, including play from both resort and the No. 7 membership base.
Crouch and Camplin are two of 25 professional staff members at Pinehurst, including management of its annual 300,000-resort and member rounds, golf shops, and thePinehurst Golf Academy.
