Victory Leads Driver Shaft Brand Count Wins on All Tours
(Vista, CA – July 14, 2008) Fujikura’s Rombax shaft technology was used in the driver and fairway woods played by the winner at the John Deere Classic.
The brand also won the overall driver shaft count at the John Deere and last week’s LPGA and Nationwide Tour events, the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic and Nationwide Tour Players Cup.
“We’re thrilled with this PGA win and other recent victories by this veteran player, all of which have come since he switched to Rombax technology a few weeks before his first win this year at the Memorial. And the John Deere playoff he won was especially exciting for Fujikura as all three contenders were playing our shafts in their driver,” says Dave Schnider, President/COO of Fujikura.
“The weekend was capped off by being the leading driver shaft played at the LPGA event, besting our four next competitors shaft count combined,” says Schnider.
“These results are especially exciting because these talented and discriminating players respect the innovative material design and technology, and superior performance of Fujikura shafts in partnering with our OEM clubmakers,” says John Hovis, Fujikura PGA Tour representative.
Fujikura was the #1 Driver Shaft Brand at all PGA, LPGA, Champions and Nationwide Tour events in the second quarter of 2008 competition. This includes winning the counts at the six major championships held during the quarter. The brand’s dominant leadership position reinforces Fujikura’s position as the PGA Tour’s #1 Driver and Wood shaft brand for the last eight years.
Fujikura is the primary supplier to many national brand OEM’s offering both proprietary and brand product shaft designs. Fujikura products also can be custom fitted through its network of over 900 Charter Dealers. To learn more about Fujikura, visit www.fujikuragolf.com.
