# 1 Brand Dominates All Major Tours
Marlborough, MA-July 14th 2008-CHAMP Spikes, the #1 Brand on Tour, swept the weekend tournaments with victories on the PGA, LPGA, European PGA, and Duramed FUTURES Tours. CHAMP’s dominance was evident as seven of the top ten finishers on the PGA Tour could be seen wearing either the Stinger, Pro Stinger™, or traditional steel Cermec® spikes.
The winner of the 2008 John Deere Classic claimed his 12th career PGA Tour title while wearing the CHAMP Scorpion Stinger™. With this victory, his third in his past five starts, the champion catapulted to the #2 spot on the PGA Tour money list and FedExCup points list.
At the 2008 LPGA Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic, the 21 year old champion wore CHAMP’s Pink & White Lady Stinger spikes en rout to her third victory of 2008. The spikes, made popular by the Pink on the Links™ program, an event to raise money for Breast Cancer Research, helped this week’s winner stick out her victory by holding off her opponents while shooting a final round 73.
Across the seas in Scotland, CHAMP’s Pro Stinger spikes were the choice of the champion at the Barclays Scottish Open in Loch Lomand. The Northern Ireland native came from behind in compelling fashion, finishing with three straight birdies on the back nine for a 3-under-par 68 and a two-stroke victory Sunday.
Meanwhile, on the Duramed FUTURES Tour, rookie Vicki Hurst, continued her hot streak winning her fourth title in eight starts. A devoted wearer of the CHAMP Stinger, the winner, along with the entire field at the Cigna Golf Classic in Bloomfield, CT, sported CHAMP Spikes.
“Just when you think our 2008 season streak couldn’t get any better, something like a weekend sweep happens,” said Harris MacNeill, President of CHAMP Spikes. “This season has been extremely exciting for us. To have 14-straight PGA Tour victories as well as dominance across all other major tours is a very rewarding experience for any company.”
