POWAY, Calif. – Using Aldila’s DVS™ in her driver and their NVS™ in her 3-wood, Paula Creamer shot an opening round 11-under 60 to set a course and tournament record on her way to victory at the Jamie Farr Owens Corning Classic. Creamer, who joined Aldila’s Advisory Staff in 2005, finished at 16-under 268 to win by two strokes.
“I played well all week,” Creamer said. “I shot 60 and backed it up with a 65. After you shoot a 60, I swear it’s the hardest thing to come back out and play. I hit a lot of good shots today. I can’t be disappointed.”
The victory was Creamer’s third for 2008 and her seventh career win on the LPGA Tour.
Aldila’s DVS shaft features an innovative, new responsive tip design for extra kick at impact with an optimum launch. Stabilized with a unique flex profile and very low torque – distance is maximized. Aldila’s revolutionary Micro Laminate Technology™, enhanced with carbon nanotubes, provides for perfect feel. High performance technology harnessed and perfected into a special blend of weight, torque, flex and feel. Simply put, it’s sneaky long.
“Aldila’s revolutionary Micro Laminate Technology™ was first introduced in the Aldila NV™, then enhanced in the VS Proto™ and is now perfected in the DVS™,” said Stewart Bahl, Aldila’s Marketing Manager. “By incorporating ultra-thin, aerospace grade carbon fiber with carbon nanotubes, Aldila engineers have taken golf shaft technology and performance to the extreme.”
Aldila was also the leading woods shaft in play on the Nationwide Tour and the leading hybrid shaft on both the PGA Tour and Nationwide Tour, according to the Darrell Survey.
Not only is Aldila the most popular hybrid shaft on the PGA and Nationwide Tours, but they are also the number one brand of graphite shafts for consumers with new drivers, fairway woods and hybrid clubs for the third consecutive year, according to the Darrell Survey, 2007 U.S. National Survey.
