The winning combination of the Nike SQ family drivers and Nike One balls continues
The momentum continues for Nike Golf with the addition of Suzann Pettersen’s five-stroke victory at the AIB Irish Open on the Ladies European Tour (LET). It was her second win on the LET this year since joining Nike Golf’s Tour staff at the start of the season.
Pettersen benefited from the winning combination of Nike Golf’s SQ SUMO 5000 driver and Nike ONE Black ball, evidenced by her producing six birdies in the final round, four of which were on the par 5 holes.
Also helping her en route to her victory was her precise iron play with her Nike CCi Forged irons. Since switching to Nike’s CCi Forged irons at the beginning of this year, Pettersen has improved her Greens in Regulation average on the LET from 78.6% to 85%, which brings her to the number one ranking on the respective Tour. Rounding out her Nike Golf arsenal was her SQ2 3-Wood, Nike SQ 18-degree Hybrid and her Nike SV 54 and 60-degree wedges.
In her first year with Nike Golf, Pettersen is ranked third on the Women’s World Golf Rankings, second on the LET money list, eighth on the LPGA Money List and second in European standings for the 2009 Solheim Cup. Pettersen joins Tiger Woods, Anthony Kim and Richard Finch among Nike Golf’s multiple winners this year.
Nike Golf maintains its lead in driver, irons and wedge wins on the PGA Tour. The combination of the SQ family of drivers and Nike ONE Ball is the winningest combination on Tour. Nike Golf also is two for two in major championships with Nike athletes Trevor Immelman winning The Masters and Tiger Woods’ victory at the U.S. Open.
