WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – The summer season at Colonial Williamsburg’s Resort Collection shouldn’t be rushed, but the onset of fall is a particularly beloved time of year here for many golfers.
With that in mind, the resort has created the “Autumn at the Golden Horseshoe” package, which is available from Sept. 7 through the month of November, and includes:
Nightly hotel accommodations
Golf on the Golden Horseshoe Gold or Green courses (one round of golf per room per night of occupancy)
10 percent discount on golf apparel at either pro shop
Package rates are based on double occupancy and range, depending on lodging venue selected, from $148 to $323 (per person, per night, with a two-night minimum stay required).
The resort’s fall golf package will debut just as the ongoing “Unlimited Golf Package” concludes. Available now through Sept. 6, the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club’s stay-and-play summer package features unlimited golf on the Gold or Green courses, including cart fee for the first round each day.
Summer package rates range from $159 to=2 0$317 (per person, per night) and, like the fall package, are based on double occupancy and require a two-night minimum stay. Additional amenities as part of the summer package include range balls, yardage book, keepsake logo golf towel and unlimited golf on the Spotswood Executive Course, which is subject to availability and does not include cart fee.
The Golden Horseshoe Golf Club (www.goldenhorseshoegolf.com) offers a pair of 18-hole gems: the Gold Course, originally designed by the famed Robert Trent Jones Sr. and renovated by his son Rees Jones (6,817 yards from the championship tees), and the Green Course, a Rees Jones layout (7,120-yards from the tips).
The popular, par-31 Spotswood Course has been called the “best short nine-hole course in the country” by GOLF Magazine, and is perfect for juniors and families.
Colonial Wi lliamsburg’s Resort Collection, which includes the Golden Horseshoe Golf Club, provides guests a choice of more than 1,000 guest rooms among five distinctive hotel properties, from economy to luxury surrounding, Colonial Williamsburg’s renowned Historic Area. The Resort Collection is owned by The Colonial Williamsburg Foundation, the private, not-for-profit educational institution that preserves and operates the restored 18th-century Revolutionary capital of Virginia.
