Thanks to the generosity of Northern California Golf Association Foundation donors David & Mary Liskin, nationally renowned golf coach Peter Krause made a special trip to Poppy Hills on Tuesday, July 22 to benefit junior golf.
A pre-selected group of 15 NCGA juniors arrived at the driving range at 9:00am eager to gain advice from the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy’s lead instructor. The intensive three-hour clinic included one-on-one instruction on the driving range and putting green and an individual club fitting session with TaylorMade.
Up and coming golfer Jordan Eugenio couldn’t wait to get to the golf course for his lesson. The 10-year-old from Marina commented that the opportunity to meet Krause was very exciting. “We were working on hitting it straighter and I learned a lot of things,” said the 10-handicap player who participates in the NCGA Foundation’s Youth on Course program and has been playing golf since the age of two.
Eugenio’s father first introduced him to the game with a set of cut-down clubs and would take him to hit balls on the driving range. Nicknamed “Lil Jordan” for his hip-hop talents, the four-foot tall athlete also shows a natural grace with the golf club.
In addition, the Liskin family donated a TaylorMade launch monitor to the Foundation which will be used for future youth programs.
