DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., July 31, 2008 – The Duramed FUTURES Tour will launch a new program next week, which focuses attention on players currently ranked in the top 10 on the Tour’s season money list. Called “The Top Ten: Race For The Card,” this program is set up to help fans better recognize the Tour’s top players and to emphasize that these players are in contention to gain LPGA member status for 2009.
“The objective is to help fans identify players with the highest season performance who will advance on to the LPGA,” said Zayra F. Calderon, CEO of the Duramed FUTURES Tour. “This is a way to showcase the Tour’s top players on their way to the next level, while at the same time providing a fan-friendly experience for those who come to watch our events.”
Players ranked in the top 10 will have caddies wearing bright yellow caddie bibs emblazoned with a logo bearing the program’s name. An official golf cart following the top 10 players’ groups will display a yellow flag bearing the program’s logo. The logo also will be displayed beside the names of players ranked in the top 10 on tournament scoreboards and leaderboards. And for those who follow “Real Time Scoring” on duramedfuturestour.com, the logo will appear next to the names of those players ranked in the top 10.
Program flyers also will be distributed each week to all fans entering the tournament venue with helpful information about the top players and how to identify them on the course.
“The Top Ten: Race For The Card” program will kick off at next week’s Falls Auto Group Classic in London, Ky., and continue through the ILOVENY Championship in Albany, N.Y.
