Top Finishers Advance To Finals In Mesquite, Nevada
ROANOKE, TEXAS (August 11, 2008) – Regional qualifying tournaments associated with the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, the premier event in power golf, continue this weekend at the following sites:
Region 3 – DEEP SOUTH
Duran Golf Club
Viera, Florida
Aug. 16-17
Region 4 – GREAT LAKES
Saginaw Golf Center
Saginaw, Michigan
Aug. 16-17
The Region 3 finals will be preceded by a last-chance local qualifier at Duran Golf Club on Friday, August 15; the Region 4 finals will be preceded by a local qualifying event at Leaderboard Driving Range in Flint, Michigan on Thursday, August 14 and a last-chance local qualifier at Saginaw Golf Center on Friday, August 15.
Top finishers at these regional qualifying events advance to the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finals, which take place in Mesquite, Nevada on October 20-25. ESPN will debut a 90-minute tournament recap during the Christmas holidays (date TBD).
The 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship has a total purse of $600,000. The open division champion, widely recognized as golf’s biggest hitter, will earn $250,000.
