Three-day event will include final round at historic No. 2
CARLSBAD, Calif. – amateurgolf.com, the only website devoted completely to the amateur game, is proud to announce the latest in our Tournament Series “travel events” which include stops at Bandon Dunes and Kiawah Island. The inaugural Pinehurst Invitational is a three day, two person best-ball event that will be held November 1-4 at Pinehurst Resort and Country Club and is open to men and women golfers. Scratch, Net, and Senior Divisions will consist of two person teams either registering together or individually (with amateurgolf.com pairing them with another player).
Prices start at $1145.00 per person and include three days of golf, including one round at historic No. 2, three nights lodging, daily breakfasts, a welcome reception and tournament dinner. Tee gifts and tournament prizes will be provided by Bridgestone Golf, Lamkin Grips, UST Golf Shafts and Cutter & Buck Apparel.
“With our coverage of the 2008 US Amateur bringing us to Pinehurst for a preview and event story, we realized what a historic and grand resort it is, and decided to start our own event there,” said amateurgolf.com Founder Pete Wlodkowski. “Everything about the resort, and town, is pure golf, and we’re looking forward to introducing some first time visitors to the charm of Pinehurst.”

For west coast golfers, the amateurgolf.com tournament series is still going strong this summer, with stops in Northern and Southern California on the horizon and still accepting entries.
The second annual Carlsbad Coastal Championship will be held Oct. 4-5 at one of the most talked-about new courses in Southern California, The Crossings at Carlsbad. And on December 6-7 our most festive (and well attended) event of the year, The Christmas Classic, is being played at Del Monte Golf Course in Monterey and Pacific Grove Golf Links, often called “The Poor Man’s Pebble Beach.”
