Modesto, CA – Padraig Harrington, Irish professional golfer and HI-TEC sponsored player, has proven yet again that championship winning power does indeed come from your feet by claiming his second consecutive major title with victory in the 2008 PGA Championship at Oakland Hills.
The 36-year-old Harrington, who won his second straight British Open title at Royal Birkdale last month, became the first European in 78 years to win the PGA Championship since Scotland-born Tommy Armour in 1930.
Powered by his HI-TEC CDT Super Power shoes, Harrington’s sheer tenacity and will to win was almost incredible at times during the final game against Sergio Garcia. His victory was only secured on the 18th hole where he kept his nerve to play a superb approach shot to 12 feet and holed the par putt.
Harrington has been working alongside leading global footwear brand HI-TEC for over 12 years and was instrumental in the design and development of the groundbreaking CDT Power concept, proven to be the world’s first game improvement, championship winning golf shoe technology.
Harrington comments, “It’s no coincidence that I was wearing the world’s best golf shoes in winning back-to-back Open Championships. In some of the most testing conditions ever, the Hi-Tec CDT technology gave me amazing balance and stability.”
Harrington was wearing the all black CDT Super Power Tour in his final round.
