O’FALLON, Mo., Aug. 13, 2008 – WingHaven Country Club, a community oriented private club featuring the only Nicklaus Design Golf Course in St. Charles County, today announced its selection of KemperSports to manage the Club in O’Fallon, Mo., situated less than 40 miles west of downtown St. Louis.
“We have entered into a long term agreement with KemperSports with the goal of sustaining WingHaven as one of the most desirable and active golf properties in the western suburbs,” said John Eilermann, Jr., who along with Paul J. McKee, Jr., are co-owners of the Club. “During the coming years we expect KemperSports to help us to further enrich the experiences of our members and the local golfing community,” he added.
WingHaven Country Club initially opened as a semi-private club in 1999 with a par-72 course featuring generous fairway landing areas with demanding approach shots, including Nicklaus signature bunkers and water hazards. With play as long as 7,230 yards, the course offers five different teeing areas to allow all skill levels to challenge themselves, providing top level competitive golf while emphasizing playability for the average golfer.
WingHaven has hosted several prestigious professional and amateur championships, including the Georgia Pacific Super Senior PGA TOUR Pro-Am, Gateway PGA Championship, U.S. Women’s Mid-Amateur Qualifying, U.S. Amateur Qualifying, USGA Women’s Public Links Qualifying and the Missouri Amateur Championship.
In addition to golf, WingHaven offers a variety of amenities, including three restaurants, two tennis courts, a fitness center and a Junior Olympic-sized swimming pool. The Club became private in July 2006 and in that year was ranked fourth by Golfweek magazine as one of Missouri’s “Best Places You Can Play.”
