CELEBRATION, FL (August 22, 2008)- Mystic Dunes Golf Club will join others in the golf industry in honoring injured and fallen soldiers by collecting donations for the Folds of Honor Foundation.
Beginning Friday, Aug. 29 through Monday, Sept. 1, golfers at Mystic Dunes Golf Club will be asked to donate a minimum of $1 in support of Patriot Golf Day. All funds raised will benefit the Folds of Honor Foundation to provide educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty.
“Mystic Dunes Golf Club is proud to once again help raise funds for the families of those serving in the armed forces,” said Melissa Suttles, General Manager.
In July, Mystic Dunes Golf Club raised over $1,000 for injured service men and women by donating a portion of its Red, White, & Blue Invitational to the Wounded Warrior Project (WWP).
“It’s a small way for us to give back to the many who have sacrificed so much for this great country,” said Suttles.
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides educational scholarships to families of those who have become disabled or lost their lives in the line of duty. In 2007, some 3,200 golf facilities nationwide participated in Patriot Golf Day, raising more than $1 million dollars. The foundation was created by Dan Rooney, an F-16 fighter pilot in the Oklahoma Air National Guard and PGA Professional.
