(Southwest Oklahoma) – The Territory Golf and Country Club – named a Top 50 Residential Course by Golfweek and one of Oklahoma’s best courses byGolf Digest – today announces that PGA Tour star Notah Begay III played the award-winning Randy Heckenkemper-designed golf course.
Begay, a four-time winner on the PGA Tour, participated in the Halliburton Southwest Oklahoma Championship – a stop on the Adams Pro Golf Tour Series.

Stretching to more than 7,110 yards from the tips and featuring five sets of tees, The Territory is a modified target-golf course that offers playability and enjoyment to players of all ages and skill levels. The greens are an A1-A4 creeping bentgrass blend, the tees, fairways and roughs are Tifsport Bermudagrass and native vegetation frames the playing corridors.

Notah Begay III, who maintains a busy splaying schedule, has been very active with the Notah Begay III Foundation Challenge. The Challenge is a first-of-its-kind golf tournament featuring Begay and four of the best PGA Tour players – Vijay Singh, Camillo Villegas, Mike Weir, Stewart Cink – to raise awareness and support for the Foundation’s mission: The creation and delivery of sustainable athletic programs for Native American youth.
The inaugural tournament took place Aug. 26, 2008 at the Turning Stone Resort & Casino in Oneida, New York, with Villegas taking the top spot in the skins game format.
