New line of “green” golf clothing launches nationwide

Charleston, SC – September 4, 2008 Verterra Sport announces today the official launch of the company’s line of eco-friendly, “green” golf and lifestyle apparel, the industry’s first renewable fabric clothing option.
Regarded as one of the most innovative new products in golf wear, the Verterra Sport apparel collection has been designed and developed using sustainable resources. Manufactured by internationally recognized MVP Textiles, the range of shirts are made from renewable fabrics such as corn fiber and featured Cool-TexTM a performance moisture wicking polyester, which allows for increased air flow providing unbeatable comfort.
The revolutionary golf apparel has been created to appeal to the golfer looking for top quality apparel while maintaining high performance and fashion. In a day and age of increased environmental awareness and sensitivity, Verterra Sport has caught the imagination of golfers around the country.
“We have created a brand that people can associate with based on the values and principles the company was founded; a high quality performance garment with fresh innovative designs that also benefits the environment.” said Jason Moyer, Verterra Sport VP of Marketing and Sales. “Initial reaction has been strong with the garments selling on their comfort and design merit. We are focused on pushing Verterra Sport as the “GREEN” golf company. It is a product we are excited about and extremely proud of.”
Moyer is a former mini tour player and tour caddy with extensive experience in the golf industry.
“Having seen first-hand the quality of the Verterra Sport apparel and knowing they’re made with environmentally friendly fabric is a very appealing combination for our industry,” said Greg Beavan Head Golf Professional with the Daniel Island Golf Club, Daniel Island, SC. “The shirts are clearly made with a high quality, well tailored fabric which means they’ll perform well under all conditions of our sport.”
Offering a variety of styles and colors, the Verterra Sport line of “GREEN” golf shirts are available at select golf centers across the U.S. The company believes the Verterra Sport brand will become a major player in the competitive apparel market.
