Region 8 In Dallas This Weekend
ROANOKE, TEXAS (Sept. 8, 2008) – The last of 12 regional qualifying competitions associated with the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship, the premier event in power golf, takes place in Dallas on September 13-14:
Region 8 – COTTON BELT
City Pointe Golf Center

Last chance RE/MAX local qualifying rounds are scheduled for the morning and afternoon at City Pointe on Friday, September 12. The schedule for Region 8 finals on Saturday (Sept. 13) has women’s division competitors on the tee first, followed by open division competitors. The schedule for Sunday (Sept. 14) has the senior division competitors up first, followed by the super seniors and grand champions.
Top finishers in Dallas advance to the 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship finals, which take place in Mesquite, Nevada on October 20-25. ESPN will debut a 90-minute tournament recap during the Christmas holidays (date TBD).
The 2008 RE/MAX World Long Drive Championship has a total purse of $600,000. The open division champion, widely recognized as golf’s biggest hitter, will earn $250,000.
