Honor Adds to Course’s Long List of Accolades
(WATERSOUND, Fla.) – Camp Creek Golf Club — the award-winning Tom Fazio design developed by The St. Joe Company and located along Northwest Florida’s stunning Gulf Coast – is ranked No. 8 among Florida’s best courses by GOLF Magazine in the September issue.
This marks the first time GOLF – one of the nation’s most widely circulated golf publications – has ranked the best courses in each state. Camp Creek is in elite company on the list of Florida’s finest, alongside several hosts to professional tour events and world famous resorts. The magazine’s rankings panel included editorial staff and well-traveled golf industry sources.
Earlier this year, Camp Creek advanced seven places to No. 6 on Golfweek’s 2008 Best You Can Play, State-by-State rankings. The course is accessible to resort guests of St. Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound Beach resorts, which offer luxury accommodations, vacation rentals and world-class dining just steps from the Gulf of Mexico.
“Being selected by GOLF Magazine as one of Florida’s very best courses is a tremendous honor,” says Will Hopkins, General Manager at Camp Creek. “Everyone at Camp Creek works hard to ensure that the entire experience matches the course’s spectacular layout and scenery.”
Camp Creek was selected by the United States Golf Association and Florida State Golf Association to host a 2008 U.S. Amateur Qualifier in July, and held a U.S. Open Local Qualifier in 2007. In selecting the courses, the USGA and FSGA cited their championship-caliber layouts, commitment to conditioning and ample practice facilities.

About Camp Creek and the WaterColor Inn and Resort Golf Collection
Since opening in 2001, Camp Creek has been consistently cited as one of Tom Fazio’s most thought-provoking, aesthetically-stunning design credits. Featuring a unique “dunescape” appearance, the course was created as a private club for members who are owners in select St. Joe communities and resort guests of St. Joe’s WaterColor and WaterSound Beach resorts. Camp Creek, along with St. Joe-owned Shark’s Tooth and The Origins Course, form the exclusive “golf collection” of the WaterColor Inn and Resort. From the back green tees, the course plays to a championship caliber yardage of 7,159 and a formidable slope rating of 152. Camp Creek’s five-tee configuration, which also includes gold (senior) and red (women’s) tees, accommodates players of all skill and experience levels. Travel + Leisure Golf cited Camp Creek as “Florida’s No. 1 Course of the New Millennium.” It has also been recognized for its environmental stewardship through designation as a Certified Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary by the Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACSS). Superintendent Larry Livingston was similarly distinguished as a certified Audubon Steward. Camp Creek is operated by Troon Golf, the leader in upscale golf course management.
