Second Tour Victory in Four Weeks for New TaylorMade Rossa Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider Putter
CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 8th, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Jean-François Lucquin earned his first career European Tour victory by draining a 12-foot putt with his Rossa® Itsy Bitsy Monza® Spider in a two-man playoff to capture the Omega European Masters. Lucquin entered the final round trailing by four shots, and answered the challenge with a bogey-free 67.
It was the second professional victory for the Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider, both coming in the past four weeks. In Stockholm last month, TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Peter Hanson used it to win at the SAS Masters. Lucquin, who played a center shaft version built for him two days before the tournament began, was one of 10 players who used the Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider putter – a midsize mallet designed to perform much like the Monza Spider, an oversize mallet putter launched early this year that immediately captured the attention of PGA Tour professionals and amateur golfers alike. In the Omega Masters field, 19 players used a Rossa putter, 10 relied on the new Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider, while 5 played the standard mallet sized Monza Spider.*
