#1 Brand on Tour has Strong Win on EUPGA Tour and closes out Season on FUTURES Tour
Marlborough, MA-September 8, 2008-CHAMP Spikes, the #1 Brand on Tour, captured the Omega European Masters with the champion wearing CHAMP’s Scorpion Stinger Spikes™. The Frenchman shot a final round 67, and 13-under par 271 to defeat his opponent in the second sudden death playoff hole, clinching the title in dramatic fashion. Along with the champion, CHAMP spikes could be seen atop the leaderboard as the top three finishers wore CHAMP brand spikes.
CHAMP was popular this weekend on the PGA Tour as the leaderboard at the BMW Championship at Bellerive Country Club in St. Louis, Missouri had 7 of the top 10 finishers wearing CHAMP spikes.
At the Duramed FUTURES Tour, the inaugural season for the “Last CHAMP Standing,” match-play competition came to a close in Albany, NY. Champion, Chella Choi held off runner-up, Katie Allison in the finals of the Duramed FUTURES Tour’s new bonus-bucks contest.
The contest was open only to players who have worn CHAMP spikes during official tournaments. Eligible players earned performance-based qualifying points in prior Tour events and were seeded among the top-16 players and ties for the contest.
CHAMP Spikes awarded the winner Chella Choi a prize of $2,500, while the runner-up collected $500. This is the ninth straight year that CHAMP Spikes has been an official sponsor of the Duramed FUTURES Tour.
