TORONTO, Ontario – Hollas, one of Canada’s top golf apparel brands owned by Second Skin™, will be expanding their product line for Spring 2009 and introducing two new fabrics: Cocona and MAPP™ (Merino Advanced Performance Programme) Tech as well as adding new fabrics to their successful XFC line.
Known for their technical fabrics, Hollas is broadening the fabric and design element of its brand by weaving Cocona and MAPP™ Tech fabrics into their Kinetic, Fusion, Metro and Royale collections. Each of the four has its own unique feel based on styling and specific merchandising color groups. All four groups have classic Hollas selections as well as a multitude of new styles with a sophisticated look and feel that appeals to a broader customer base.
The Cocona fabric is an all-in-one natural solution that provides the ultimate in comfort and quality. It provides enhanced moisture management with wicking and fast drying properties. It absorbs odors by using an activated carbon built into the yarn while also providing superior UV protection.
“Cocona fabrics will retain or even improve their performance over the life of the product,” said Don Nichols, Second Skin Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “The technology is permanently embedded into the fabric.”
Being touted as one of the industry’s most exciting fabric innovations this year, Hollas’ MAPP™ Tech is a lightweight, robust and comfortable fabric. It maximizes the performance potential of the wearer by promoting the balanced regulation of the body’s core temperature and provides protection and comfort in competitive, extreme conditions. At the core of any MAPP™ Tech fabric is an inner base-layer of 100 percent natural MAPP™ Merino which is linked with a protective outer layer of technical performance fabric giving next to skin core comfort with a technical outer edge. Some of the technical features and benefits of MAPP™ Tech fabric is that they are wind and water resistant, breathable, have UV protection and mechanical stretch properties. Merino Core features and benefits are moisture management, thermal control, comfort and odor resistant.
Hollas has added new fabrications to their exclusive group of XFC fabrics for shirts that extend beyond color blocking. XFC is structured to allow moisture transmission and diffusion. The perforated-like texture of the fabric reduces skin contact so the wearer stays cool and comfortable regardless of the level of physical activity. Not only does it keep the wearer cool, but and added feature is that XFC fabrication provides up to 40 SPF ultraviolet protection.
In addition to their new fabric choices, Hollas has increased their offerings in pants and shorts while adding two belts to their line, the Classic and the Tour.
Hollas will begin shipping their new line in February 2009 with sizes ranging from S-XXL.
