Winner of Viking Classic Plays TaylorMade® r7® 425 driver, New Burner® 3-Wood and Wears adidas® Golf Footwear
CARLSBAD, Calif. (September 22nd, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff Professional Matt Bettencourt shot a final-round 69 at Shadow Hills Country Club to win the Nationwide Tour Oregon Classic for his first professional title. Bettencourt, who played TaylorMade equipment and wore adidas footwear and apparel, posted a tournament-record 19-under 269 total.
Bettencourt used his TaylorMade Tour Burner driver off the tee, his r7 TP irons to hit greens and his Rossa® Itsy Bitsy Monza® Spider to sink putts. He also relied on the performance of his TaylorMade TP Red® golf ball with Low Drag Performance, a proprietary aerodynamics technology developed to help golfers achieve longer average driving distance by promoting improved distance on off-center hits. It was also the third worldwide Tour victory for the TaylorMade Rossa Itsy Bitsy Monza Spider Putter, a midsize mallet designed to perform much like the Monza Spider, an oversize mallet putter launched early this year that immediately captured the attention of PGA Tour professionals and amateur golfers alike.
