Carlsbad, CA (September 29, 2008) – Just three weeks after earning his first career PGA TOUR title, Cobra Brand Ambassador Camilo Villegas captured the TOUR Championship in a dramatic sudden death playoff. Villegas’ performance made it back-to-back wins for the 26-year old Colombian, who secured his maiden PGA TOUR title with a two-shot, wire-to-wire win at the BMW Championship.

This win was significantly different from his first. Competing down the stretch against three of the world’s top six players in the Official World Golf Rankings, Villegas made six birdies over the final 11 holes to rally from a five-shot deficit to earning a playoff spot. He won with a par on the first extra hole, the same par 233-yard, par 3, 18th on which he nearly won in regulation just a few minutes earlier. Villegas finished with final round low 4-under 66, and 7-under 273 for the tournament.

One of the hardest workers on the PGA TOUR, Villegas is powered by the King Cobra L4V Driver, King Cobra Speed LD Fairway Metals and King Cobra Pro CB Irons. It marks his third win as a professional as he also captured the Coca-Cola Tokai Classic in Japan in 2007.

Villegas is without a doubt the hottest player in golf today, finishing T3 at the Deutsche Bank Championship before capturing the final two events in the Playoffs. He finished second in the final FedEx Cup Standings, just 551 points shy of the title. He also finished T4 at the PGA Championship and T9 at the U.S. Open in June.

Villegas’ victory moves him into the No. 7 position in the Official World Golf Ranking, the first time he has ever been inside the Top 10.

What’s in Camilo’s Cobra Bag?:

Driver: King Cobra L4V X (9.0)

Fairway Metals: King Cobra Speed LD (3 and 5)

Irons: King Cobra Pro CB (5-P), Carbon CB (3)

With four Top 4 finishes in his last five starts, the momentum continues for Villegas and Cobra in 2008. A powerful performance from a powerful player … and business as usual for a brand focused on developing innovative, high performance clubs.
