LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Oct. 1, 2008) – The International Professional Association of ClubFitters (IPAC) will host the “Custom Fit Center” at the 2009 PGA Merchandise Show in Orlando, FL. In an approximate 40′ X 50′ space in the Equipment Section, IPAC will perform a series of seminars on the custom fitting process, its benefits to the golfer, and the financial rewards to those offering custom fitting services.
The IPAC “Custom Fit Center” will be comprised of an IPAC booth along with several of its sponsors’ booths. Throughout the exposition, IPAC members and sponsors will demonstrate clubfitting techniques and how to utilize launch monitors, weighting systems, and how to select the right club head and shaft to create the perfect club for every golfer, regardless of skill, size, strength or budget. Other speakers will cover the marketing aspects of custom fitting and the financial gains that can be reaped by helping golfers play better golf through clubfitting.
There is no question “ill-fitting” golf clubs hinder a player’s ability to optimize their golf performance. IPAC will encourage those in the industry to make custom clubfitting an important part of their programs to better serve the golfing public and ultimately to grow the game. IPAC is especially reaching out to PGA Professionals to encourage them to learn the skills of clubfitting or alternatively partner with a certified professional fitter.
IPAC is a non-profit organization with worthy goals: 1) raise the bar for the clubfitting profession by setting guidelines for skill and integrity; 2) educate the public on what to expect and where to go for a first-rate clubfitting; 3) educate and mentor those who wish to join the profession; and 4) establish a program for continuing education to maintain the highest standards for the profession. The IPAC website (www.ipacgolf.com) contains a wealth of helpful information to guide golfers as to what to expect in a bona fide fitting and a Locator to find a professional fitter who has met the skills and integrity required to be an IPAC member.
Professional fitters spend years studying and learning their craft. They know club head and shaft design, they understand the goals of the golfer and they can analyze data from launch monitors and swing analyzers. True professional fitters can improve any golfer’s game. Those who have met a specified level of excellence have been admitted into IPAC by their peers of equal skills.
IPAC recognizes and appreciates the aid and support of its Sponsors including: FlightScope, KZG, Balance-Certified Golf, Back Nine Lytes, Explanar, Fit Chip, and NovaTech Shafts. For more information about IPAC, contact Chris Lesser at lesser@ipacgolf.com or call 818-432-5188.
