Victory Solidifies Her Position as Solheim Cup Points Leader and Elevates Her to No. 2 on LPGA Money List

CARLSBAD, Calif. (October 6, 2008) – TaylorMade-adidas Golf Tour Staff professional Paula Creamer won her fourth LPGA event of the 2008 season with a one-stroke victory at the Samsung World Championship.

“My irons, I hit them really well all week long,” Creamer said. “A couple of the holes I hit six or seven feet, look after look after look. It’s something that today I needed going into it.”

Her bogey-free final round included three birdies, but her finest putt may have been the four-footer she converted for par on the final hole that clinched the win, using a Rossa Suzuka CGB putter. The victory moved Creamer up to No. 2 on the LPGA money list and strengthened her first-place position on the Solheim Cup points list, moving 180 points ahead of the player in second place.

It was the first hometown win for the 22-year old Creamer, who hails from nearby Mountain View, Calif. “This means a lot. That is a big win. I put so much pressure on myself every time I come here and to finally have one, it feels really good. I’m very excited.”
