Early Registration Discount Offered Through Oct. 15
CHARLESTON, S.C. (Oct. 2, 2008) – Owners and operators new to the business of managing a golf facility, along with those who simply want to brush up on a particular subject, are invited to enroll at NGCOA University during the association’s 2009 Annual Conference, Feb. 3-5 in New Orleans.
Led by some of the industry’s most experienced and successful owners in the role of faculty, the one-hour sessions will be broken into 15-minute increments devoted to a wide range of subjects, including marketing, standardized P&L, maintenance budgets, POS systems, customer service, outings, leagues and player development.
“NGCOA University is designed to give members enough information on a topic to help them know what else they need to know and where they can go for additional guidance and information,” said Anne Lyndrup, the NGCOA’s director of conference and trade show.
In addition to NGCOA University, the conference includes three days of educational and networking sessions. A number of sessions have been designed to address the specific interests of members who run either small, mid-sized or large businesses.
“We recognize that the size of your business often dictates the issues and challenges most important to you,” Lyndrup said. “That’s why we’re trying to customize educational content as much as possible and make it as valuable as possible.”
NGCOA members and non-members can register for the conference atwww.ngcoa.org/conference. Early-bird registrants receive a $150 discount on on-site full conference registration fees through Oct. 15.
Winners of the NGCOA’s annual awards for course quality, management excellence and contributions to the association and the game of golf also will be recognized during the conference.
The NGCOA’s Annual Conference will run concurrently with the 2009 Golf Industry Show, Feb. 5-7 at the New Orleans Morial Convention Center. The Golf Industry Show, which is presented by the NGCOA, the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America and the Club Managers Association of America, is the golf industry’s largest gathering of golf course owners, operators and professional members of the golf course and club management industries.
Two Habitat for Humanity work days (Feb. 3-4) for volunteers who want to help in New Orleans’ ongoing rebuilding process are among the special events associated with the NGCOA’s Annual Conference, the Golf Industry Show and other partnering organizations’ education conferences.
