NEW BEDFORD, Mass., October 8, 2008 – AHEAD congratulates two of its Founders Club members on being awarded 2008 PGA Merchandisers of the Year. Michael Buccerone, general manager of The Resort Club at Grande Dunes in Myrtle Beach, S.C., won the national award in the resort facility category. John Lyberger, director of golf at Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Md., won the national award for the private facility category.
Buccerone and Lyberger are two of just 10 prestigious accounts that are members of the AHEAD Founders Club. The club was started in 1998 when the company attended its first PGA Show in Orlando, Fla. To commemorate the fact these 10 prestigious accounts actually “found” AHEAD in it’s small 10-foot by 10-foot booth hidden on the show floor and became customers, AHEAD created the Founders Club. Since then, AHEAD has grown from a small headwear company to one of the leading golf headwear, apparel and accessories companies in the industry. There will be a special acknowledgement of AHEAD’s 10th anniversary of attending the PGA Show in January.
