Golfing Magazine, The Nation’s #1 Regional/National Golf Magazine published its “Players Choice” Awards for new drivers in 2008. Clubs were rated on Appearance, Feel, Distance, Consistency, Forgiveness and Value – and from these ratings an Overall Performance Rating.
The Callaway Fusion FT-5, Nike SasQuatch SUMO 5000, Ping G10 ,Taylormade Tour Burner and Tour Edge Exotics XCG had the Best Overall Performance rating.
The Best Appearance category was captured by the Nike SasQuatch SUMO 5000, Ping G10 and the Titleist 907 D2.
The Best Distance category was captured by the Callaway Fusion FT-5, Cleveland HiBORE XLS, Cobra Speed LD-M, TaylorMade Tour Burner and the Tour Edge Exotics XCG.
The Best Value category was captured by the Nickent Evolver and the Tour Edge Bazooka Geomax.
The Best Feel Category was captured by the E21 EMC2, Ping G10, Titleist 907 D2 and the Tour Edge Exotics XCG.
The Most Consistent Category was captured by the Callaway FT-I, Nike SasQuatch SUMO 2 5900 and TaylorMade Tour Burner
The Most Forgiving category was captured by the Nickent 4DX SuperMag, Nike SasQuatch SUMO 2 5900, TaylorMade CGB Max and the Tour Edge Exotics XCG.
