Tickets Now on Sale for Chance to Win Golf Vacation to Fabled Firestone Country Club
(DELAND, Fla.) – Victoria Hills Golf Club – the award-winning Ron Garl-designed course managed by Billy Casper Golf and located in Victoria Park, a St. Joe community – will hold a helicopter ball drop contest to benefit the Stetson University golf program on Saturday, October 25, from for 8:00 – 8:30 a.m., with the grand prize an expenses-paid golf vacation to Firestone Country Club in Akron, Ohio.
Tickets can be purchased for $5 each at Victoria Hills from now until the event, sponsored by the Victoria Park Men’s Garden Club. For each ticket purchased, the contestant will receive one golf ball to be dropped from a helicopter onto the Victoria Hills driving range, where a hole will be located. The owner of the ball going into or finishing nearest the hole wins the grand prize, with cash awarded for second ($1,000) and third place ($300). Winners do not need to be present to claim prizes.
The grand prize winner will enjoy a two-day golf vacation for three to Firestone Country Club – site of the World Golf Championships Bridgestone Invitational — valued at $3,200. The package includes two nights at the Firestone Lodge, two days of golf for three players (one round on each of Firestone’s trio of vaunted courses), and $500 in spending money.
Victoria Hills, the home course for Stetson’s men’s and women’s golf teams, hosted a similar event last year that raised about $13,500 for the Hatters. Stetson uses the funds for necessities such as golf bags, equipment, uniforms and travel expenses.

The helicopter drop promises to be a lot of fun for participants and should again provide a significant contribution to Stetson golf.”
